What if you heard that Jesus is coming next week, what would you do or change?
Would you pray more? Would you treat people better? Would the next trend be as important as it is now? How about the upcoming session, would you even consider going? Would your reputation matter as much or not at all?
I imagine the priority would be getting ready for the return of the Lord. We have all heard of the alternative and no one wants to spend eternity in hell.
Now consider Matthew 25:13, “watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh”. This scripture is a warning, we are being cautioned that the son of man can return at any time, therefore we must be aware and ready. We will have no fore-knowledge of His precise plans; He can appear tomorrow, next week, five minutes from now or even while you are reading this article.
There will be no time to prepare then because we are living in the time of preparation now. What are you doing with this valuable time that God has given you to get ready? Are you using it to accumulate as much wealth as you can? Are you working on your image or are you waiting for tomorrow when you have ‘finished enjoying life’?
In Matthew 25:1-13, Jesus speaks of ten virgins who were going to meet the bridegroom; five was prepared and brought extra oil for their lamp while the other five was unprepared and brought none. While they were sleeping, they heard a cry that the bridegroom had come and they arose quickly to go meet him. However the five foolish virgins had no oil for their lamps which had now gone out and they had to go find oil to buy. While they were gone seeking oil, the bridegroom came and found only the five virgins with oil ready and he took them and left. Afterwards the five virgins who went to buy oil came back and realized the others were gone. They said, “Lord, Lord, open to us”, but they were too late. The Lord answered them saying, “Verily I say unto you, I know you not”.
Ask yourself today, would I be among the set of virgins who were prepared to meet the Lord or would I be among those to hear, “depart from me, I know you not”?
This is the time to be ready and live ready. Don’t be caught off-guard, rather, prepare yourself. Matthew 24:44 tells us that, “for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man cometh”.
Why wait until it is too late to be pouring into Churches, crying at the alters and searching for God when He can no longer be found. He is calling us now, while there is still time, to desist idolatry(worshipping our material things), put away vanity and turn from all the things we know displease Him.
If you are already saved, walk in sanctification and holiness, if not, the Church doors are open and God is ready to receive you into His fold. Isaiah 55:6 gives us this instruction, “seek ye the Lord while He may be found and call upon him while he is near”. The time is coming, and it is sure, when the Lord will no longer be taking calls.
This message is for everyone. If we count everyday as the day the Lord will come, we wont have time to malice, to focus on vanity, to steal, to hate, to kill or to envy. Our lives would be testament of faith, obedience, trust, reverence and love for God and each other.
I believe Matthew 24:37-39 is pertinent to this message. It says, “but as the days of Noe (Noah) were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe (Noah) entered into the ark, and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”.
These are the days before the flood. Many have seen and realized the signs of the time and are getting ready but so many of us are still legit clomid online. asleep, carefree and oblivious that when the flood comes, there is no hope after.
God is here to help all of us to be ready and live ready. We prepare for trips, for our careers, for our futures and we must not neglect the most vital preparation of all- for the return of the Messiah.
Our state of readiness will be the difference between life and death.“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come”. Matthew 24:42
