I watched in horror as the pot of boiling water fell off the stove and spilled on the left side of my husbandas body.
Not even his eye was spared.
He bellowed out a loud cry and I screamed in response. He dashed towards the bathroom and ran straight under the shower.
I felt so helpless and devastated.
He kept saying his eye was burning and I felt the tears in my own eyes as I feared the worse.
a?Oh God! Oh God!a? I kept repeating.
By this he was in agonizing pain and I was unable to help him.
Then I heard the still calm voice of the Holy Spirit, respond to my shout and my husbandas groans, a?donat panic – pray.a?
In the midst of the chaos and distress I prayed, and I knew immediately that God was right there with us!
I shared that thought with my husband as we drove to the doctor a few minutes later and we were confident that God was in control.
Have you ever experienced a moment in your life when danger presented itself and you felt so helpless because you had no power to change or even make the situation better?A
It may have been a broken relationship, an illness, a weakness that youAcouldn’tAseem to overcome, an out ofAcontrol child, loss of a loved one or financial woes.
ItAdoesn’tAmatter how drastic or devastating the situation may be – take some time and talk to God about it and letAHim take total control.A
Do not be fearful in spite of the terrible situations you are faced with!
God is with you and is able to help you!
Call upon Him!
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Is. 41:10) NIV
